Velour tracksuits have been on my mind lately. They were all the rage when I was in high school. I listen to One Tree Hill and The OC rewatch podcasts, so I hear the commentary on the tracksuits worn by Julie Cooper and Deb Scott.
Now, Paris Hilton has a cooking show on Netflix. She has worn at least two velour tracksuits. I want one. I want one bad. It would have been so cool to wear them at all the airports I just went to.
The universe heard me say that because I went thrifting on Monday. I was on the hunt for a Teen Witch costume for Vegas later this month. My focus was on assembling that outfit. Yet, I found myself in front of a section where they were selling sets. I found one in my size and in blue for $7.99. Yes please.
The tracksuits have even penetrated my dreams. Last night, I dreamt Barbara Alyn Woods gave gifts to Sophia Bush, Hilarie Burton, James Lafferty, and myself (I believe I was Bethany Joy Lenz). Everyone got a tracksuit. Mine wasn't velour, it was like the athletic warmup James got.
In any case, us girls all had a second piece of clothing in the gift box. Sophia had a purple Clothes Over Bros shirt. Hilarie got a leather jacket, but it was cropped. I got a Ravens raglan and shorts.
I'd be very pleased with any of those gifts in real life, especially if they were One Tree Hill themed.
